and she studied classical voice with Don Schramm, a performer with the Washington Opera in Washington, D.C. She performed as the lead singer in Whitewater Band, playing classic rock in southern Maryland and northern Virginia for several years. In 2003, Sandra began working with Brian Wallin, a songwriter who, like Sandra, started with a different career path, but came home to music. Brian’s career in law enforcement and his strong spiritual faith have given him deep insights into human nature. His music ranges from gentle, melodic ballads to soulful blues tunes.
In fall of 2005, Sandra met Larry Butler. Larry is the first and only Nashville Producer to win the coveted Grammy Award for Producer Of The Year. During his career, he has produced many major recording artists such as, Kenny Rogers, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, John Denver and Crystal Gale to name only a few. He heard promise in Sandra's voice and music, and has produced an album of her original songs in Nashville. With this new demo album, Larry has made his vision a reality as he "wrapped" the music around Sandra's voice to create a unique collection of vivid lyrical images and beautiful melodies, delivered with a warm vocal intimacy. Larry is currently presenting Sandra's new album to top producers and publishers around the country.
Sandra is supported in her music and veterinary practice by
her husband Steve Sisk. Steve retired in 1998 after 28 years in the United
States Navy. He began his service as a nuclear submarine mechanic during the
cold war, serving numerous submarine assignments. In 1983, he qualified for
Officer Candidate School and entered the Supply Corps. He retired as a
Lieutenant Commander in the Naval Inspector General's Office in Washington,
DC. In 1998. After retirement, Steve managed one of the largest condominium
complexes in the Washington, DC area, and then joined Sandra to purchase Milton
Animal Hospital in Milton, FL. Steve manages the hospital, networks to find
musical opportunities for Sandra, contributes lyrical ideas, and often sits in
on the bass during rehearsals and performances. |
